World Book Day 2026 We have had a fabulous book week at Eastling. On Monday we had a whole school assembly introducing this year's theme of ‘go all in’. On Tuesday, we started our day with the KS2 storytelling morning with our families and throughout the day, each class drew their own book token to enter into the national book token competition. On Wednesday, we started our day with the EYFS and KS1 storytelling morning with our families and had our surprise teacher book swap, with a teacher from a different class coming into our classroom to share their favourite stories. On Thursday was World Book Day and we came into school dressed as our favourite book characters. We had a whole school assembly where Mrs Dale shared one of her favourite stories ‘Tadpole’s Promise’. KS2 then took part in a live world book day lesson. Friday saw our reading buddy club, with older year groups coming to share stories with the younger year groups. We also had our annual decorate a paper plate competition, with plates decorated as our favourite books or book characters. We announced the winners in a whole school assembly, and all had a chance to admire everyone’s contributions. #reading #books
