Primary School
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Parents/Carers
I would like to thank you for your continued support over this past year. Eastling Primary School is sad to be saying goodbye to our year 6 pupils but also extremely proud of the wonderful rounded pupils that are leaving us to start the next stage of their educational journey. We will of course miss each and every one of them and hope that they will keep in touch.
The Oak class production of Oliver was fantastic. The children were all amazing from the acting and singing to the costumes and scenery. I was once again blown away by the talent we have here at Eastling Primary School. I would like to thank Oak class staff for their dedication in working so hard to produce such a high standard performance. My thanks to our musical director Mr Glazier and Mrs Bilby and Mr Brunger.
I would like to thank the FOES for all their hard work and support for Eastling Primary School. This next academic year the FOES are very kindly paying for the visiting pantomime in December, the West End theatre trip for the junior children and a Christmas trip for the infants.
We look forward to welcoming the children back on Tuesday 3rd September and to meeting our new families that will be joining us, both in Acorn class and across the school. The school already has plans in place for a variety of exciting events including the school choir taking part in Young Voices at the O2 again and Outdoor Learning Days.
Finally, I would like to thank the amazing team of staff at Eastling Primary School who work so hard for the benefit of the children.
Have a wonderful summer
Yours Sincerely
Mrs M. Dale

Dear Parents/Carers
I want to update you on the current situation with the heating in school. There have been site visits to school by both KCC and the heating company. The school boilers are irreparable and the work to strip out the two boilers is due to start at the end of next week. The installation will then take between 4 and 5 days to complete. We do have temporary heaters in school which are keeping the school warm but we do not have any hot water.
On a much more uplifting note, yesterday fifteen girls from our school football club, run by Mrs McKeith, were extremely fortunate to meet Alessia Russo at Bearsted Football Club. Alessia Russo began her football career training at Bearsted with Coach Colin. She returned there yesterday to open the new club house. Bearsted girls’ team were there and five children from another primary school. Eastling Primary School took part in a training session with Coach Colin before meeting Alessia Russo. She answered questions, signed photographs and had her photo taken with the girls. Good Morning Britain and BBC South East were there filming and they were shown on television this morning.
I want to once again thank Coach Colin for organising this amazing opportunity for the girls.
We have a busy term ahead of us with Book Week next week filled with activities organised by Miss Waugh including Teacher Reading Swap and our resident author Mrs Davison sharing her new book, ‘Is it a Seed.’ Next week we also have parents evening where we look forward to seeing as many parents as possible and our Acorn class have their Mother’s Day Breakfast on Friday morning. The week beginning 11th March is science week and this year’s theme is ‘Time.’ Miss Earles has planned a week of exciting activities including a VR experience session for every child in the school. There is also a group of children from Oak and Willow class taking part in a Lego event at the Science Park in Sittingbourne.
The Year 6 children are off on their residential this term and there are of course a number of class educational visits. This term will end with an outdoor learning day where we will begin the day with a stay and play session with the parents and we look forward to working with Wild Classroom.
For further information please check the school weekly newsletter where Mrs Travers keeps the calendar of events updated.

Dear Parents/Carers,
The year has got off to a great start and we look forward to another successful year for the
whole school community here at Eastling Primary. I am delighted to see and hear how well
our new Reception children have settled into daily school life. We were extremely lucky on
Friday with the weather for Outdoor Learning Day and the children enjoyed taking part in a
wide variety of new learning experiences.
Our Friends of Eastling School (FOES) had their first coffee morning of the school year on
Friday 22nd September and it was lovely to see our new families join them. The FOES have
organised a Macmillan coffee for Friday 29th September at 9.30am, following on from the
Year 1 and 2 class assembly. We look forward to a successful event. Please do join us at St
Mary’s for Harvest Festival on Friday 6th October where we will be supporting Faversham
Foodbank.
We are sadly saying goodbye to two members of staff this term. Miss Paul, our dinner lady
has been a much-valued member of Eastling Primary School since April 2019. We are
delighted to share with you that she is joining Kent Police and we wish her all the best for her future as a police officer. Mrs Elliott is also leaving us to pursue other interests. I am sure that you will join me in wishing Miss Paul and Mrs Elliott all the best in their new roles.
Yours Sincerely
