Eastling
Primary School
24th May 2022
Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s a pleasure to be able to introduce myself as the newly elected Governor for Eastling Primary School.
I have two children at Eastling; Noah in year R and Cody in year 3. We moved to the area in September 2021 and immediately fell in love with the ethos of the school, the wonderful teaching staff and administrators and, of course, the incredible opportunities that the OPAL Project offers the children on a daily basis. I don’t think a week has gone by since we moved that my husband and I haven’t expressed our gratitude and luck that we are a part of such a fantastic school. Our sons settled into their new environment quickly and are thriving with a love for their school and learning.
It’s a privilege to join an already strong governing body who freely give their time and commitment to the school to ensure standards are met and that students receive the best possible education. Thank you to each of the Governors for welcoming me so warmly. I very much look forward to making a positive contribution alongside you all.
Personally, I spend my working days supporting children and adults in the community as a Clinical Hypnotherapist in private practice. I also manage Abbey Place Clinic, a wellbeing centre in Faversham, and I manage the marketing and communications for a therapist training school in Kent and East Sussex.
Myself and my family enjoy being active together, and you can often find us enjoying the local beaches or walking our greyhound in the woods. I trained in Kickboxing for a year and Karate as a family unit for the last couple of years, which I have a huge passion for. I volunteer my time when needed to assisting the home-education children in the area with their weekly karate lessons at Eastling Village Hall. That is why I sometimes appear on the school run dressed in my karate uniform, and rush to get back to the car as soon as humanly possible on those days! I also enjoy daily Tai Chi sessions at home, and reading whenever I get a moment to myself. Anything peaceful for me is the way to go, and after a 14 year career in TV Production, I am very much enjoying my new life in the country and a slower pace of life!
I hope everyone enjoys a relaxing and fun half term, and that term 6 is a great one!
Best wishes,
Emma Bilby
